    An Ancient Land of Israel Wheat

  • This flour was ground from a rare and ancient wheat
    variety that has grown and been consumed in Israel for thousands of years.

    Until the 20th century, this wheat was the dominant variety
    in the Middle East, but the agricultural revolution and
    genetic engineering led to the development of modern
    dwarf varieties of wheat, whose natural structure had been
    altered, causing the loss of many of its properties.

  • The surviving remnants of the ancient varieties were found
    by Ministry of Agriculture researchers and agronomists in a
    “Land of Wheat” initiative to revive these varieties for cultivation and consumption.

    This variety has a rich flavor and special aroma, and is
    considered healthier, containing more vitamins and
    minerals, and can be easier to digest for people with gluten
    sensitivity or intolerance.

  • This wheat also aids in maintaining blood sugar levels and contributes to alleviating IBS symptoms.

  • The wheat is grown in Eretz Yisrael and is Organic

    The shmura flour is dry ground and specially packaged such that it does not require sifting.
